Ford better wake up and get healthy or he'll die, source tells Maclean's

Yet another anonymous source spoke to a Canadian publication about Rob Ford, saying Toronto's mayor better wake up and get healthy or he's going to die.

Ford is on the front cover of the latest Maclean's Magazine that will hit newsstands on Thursday.

Maclean's reporter Nicholas Kohler said he spoke to someone who used to be a key member of the Ford team.

The source is concerned that if the mayor does not resign, things will end badly.

"We don't want to wake up in a week and find him dead in a ditch knowing we could have done something stop this," the source said to Maclean's.

"This person thinks that the pressures of the office have become overwhelming for the mayor," Kohler explained.

"That's why this person sees the choices so stark — the mayor either resigns or is found 'dead in a ditch one day.'"

The source goes on to say that the recent departures from Ford's office are either out of concern over Ford's health and alleged substance-abuse issues or out of fear that the staffers will be seen as enablers.
